Spiaggia Rais Gerbi

Spiaggia Rais Gerbi is a shingle beach on the northern coast of Sicily, featuring gray and white stones smoothed by Mediterranean waves and backed by steep rocky cliffs. The shoreline stretches along the coast with dark rock formations jutting into the water on both sides.

The name comes from a medieval Arab settlement that established a trading post on this coastal section. Arab presence shaped the history of this region for centuries.

Local fishermen use this stretch of coast as they have for generations, launching their boats between the stones to head out to sea. The place continues to serve as a working area for people who depend on daily fishing.

The beach is reached by a path from the main road, with parking spaces nearby. It is best visited in calm weather, as the pebbles and rocks require careful footing.

Underground freshwater springs mix with the sea here, maintaining consistent water temperatures throughout the year. This natural feature makes the water surprisingly comfortable even in cooler months.
