Spiaggia Cefalú, Sandy beach in Cefalù, Italy

Spiaggia Cefalù is a sandy beach curving along a crescent-shaped bay, framed by medieval stone buildings on one side and the Mediterranean on the other. The seabed slopes gradually, creating shallow waters near the shore that deepen further out.

The beach was once a quiet working space for local fishermen until it gradually transformed into a tourist destination from the 1950s onward. This shift brought changes to the shoreline, though fishing remained central to the town's identity.

The beach is woven into the local fishing community's daily life, with boats and nets visible along the shore throughout the year. The waterfront reflects how residents have relied on the sea for their livelihood across generations.

The beach is easy to reach on foot from the town center and offers swimming, sunbathing, and water sports year-round. Conditions are most pleasant during warmer months when the sun is strong and the water is comfortable for swimming.

Directly above the beach rises La Rocca, a limestone cliff with remains of ancient temples visible from below and accessible via a steep pathway. This blend of modern beach life with ancient history creates an unusual setting where visitors can experience two different time periods in one visit.
