Spiaggia Cala Pira

Spiaggia Cala Pira is a sand beach on the southeastern coast of Sardinia with fine white sand and clear Mediterranean water. The bay is framed by rocky coastal formations and offers a sheltered swimming area with shallow water along the shoreline.

A watchtower from the early 1600s stands on the hillside above the beach as evidence of coastal defense. This structure was built to protect the shore from pirate attacks that were common in the Mediterranean during that era.

The beach serves as a gathering place where locals spend leisure time together, maintaining the tradition of spending summer days with family and friends by the water.

The beach has a spacious parking area and a kiosk for refreshments and basic facilities. Umbrella and chair rentals are available on site, making a comfortable visit possible without bringing your own equipment.

Dolphins regularly appear near the shore and sometimes swim quite close to the water's edge. These encounters with marine mammals often become an unexpected highlight for many visitors during their beach day.
