Spiaggia del Felciaio, Sandy beach in Livorno, Italy
Spiaggia del Felciaio is a sandy beach near Livorno along the Tuscan coast, stretching about 150 meters with fine sand and smooth pebbles separated by a rocky formation. The cove opens to the water with the cliff rising behind and creating a sheltered spot along the shoreline.
The eastern section holds remnants of an ancient port structure that now forms a natural pool shielded from strong currents. This vestige reveals the site was used as a harbor in antiquity.
The beach draws locals and visitors who gather along the shoreline, and a seaside bar on the eastern cliff serves traditional Tuscan food and drinks.
From the parking area about one kilometer away, reaching the beach requires walking roughly 500 meters through a bush path. Comfortable shoes are helpful since the trail can be uneven and offers little shade along the way.
An underwater tunnel beneath the rock wall allows experienced swimmers to move from the sheltered beach area into the open Mediterranean. This submerged passage often goes unnoticed by most visitors to the cove.
