The beach stretches along 600 meters of sandy shoreline, with 150 meters of supervised swimming area on the Alqueva Lake waters.
Established in 2019, this beach development emerged following the creation of Europe's largest artificial lake through the Alqueva Dam project.
Local residents maintain traditional Alentejo fishing practices along the shores, sharing their ancestral connections with the water through generations.
Visitors find modern facilities including changing rooms, medical station, restaurant, parking areas, and equipment rentals for water activities.
The beach earned Blue Flag certification, marking it as the largest certified beach on Alqueva Lake with specific zones for various water sports.
