Praia do Boião

Praia do Boião is a beach at the western side of Alvor featuring three separate sandy areas positioned along the coastline. The cove is framed by cliffs and accessed by walking through an adjacent beach area.

The coastal area falls under the authority of Portimão's port authority, established to protect southern Portugal's coastal regions. This administrative structure continues to oversee the local maritime zone.

During low tide, the beach becomes a place where visitors appreciate the natural seclusion offered by surrounding cliffs. People come here to enjoy a quieter setting away from crowded areas.

The beach is accessed by walking through an adjacent beach area, positioned about 10 minutes from central Portimão. Parking facilities are available nearby, making a visit straightforward.

During low tide, numerous caves and small rocky coves become visible and accessible, revealing interesting limestone shapes. These natural formations appear only part of the time, creating a special aspect of the visit.
