Praia do Alemão

Praia do Alemão is a beach in Portimão with golden sand bordered by ochre cliffs. The water is clear and a dense pine grove covers the clifftops above.

The beach received its name from the first residential construction in the area, built by a German family during early coastal development. This early settlement shaped the history of this stretch of coast.

The beach has lifeguards, restrooms, first-aid stations, and marked parking areas. Access is straightforward through designated pathways.

Natural stone formations at the western end create small pools when the tide goes out. The clifftop trail Varandas sobre o Mar runs alongside with views of the water.
