Praia Fluvial do Sabugal

Praia Fluvial do Sabugal is a river beach with grassy banks and wooden platforms extending into the water, surrounded by dense forest. The site has restrooms, picnic areas, a beach soccer field, and rental services for canoes and paddle boats.

The site was developed in the 1990s, transforming this section of the Coa River into a local recreation area for the community. This project created a gathering place for swimming and outdoor activities along the riverbanks.

Locals use this spot to relax and gather with family and friends during warm months. You will see people lounging on the grass, sitting in the sun, and wading in the water throughout the day.

The beach has calm water conditions and wide grassy areas for spreading out towels and relaxing. It is best to arrive in early morning or late afternoon when the spot is less crowded.

During summer months, temporary water barriers create a natural swimming pool with controlled depth zones for safer bathing. This adjustment makes swimming more comfortable and secure for families with children.
