Praia de San Román

Praia de San Román is a sandy beach on the Galician coast featuring distinctive rock formations that jut into the water and create natural pools. The shoreline is composed of fine sand backed by cliffs that give the area its characteristic shape and shelter.

The coastline was shaped over millions of years by Atlantic waves and natural erosion of the surrounding rock formations. These forces created the bays and rock structures that define the beach today.

The beach is reached by walking from nearby parking over terrain with rocks and sometimes shallow water depending on the tide. Sturdy footwear is helpful for navigating the access route to the shore.

A small cave at the eastern end can be explored during low tide and features natural stone arches. A secondary sandy area appears only during lower water levels and disappears completely when the tide rises.
