Playa de Cabopino, Sand beach and naturist area in Marbella, Spain
Playa de Cabopino is a sand beach on the Costa del Sol, divided into several sections by natural dunes and a pine forest that runs along its edge. The beach sits in a shallow bay next to the marina of Cabopino, giving it a sheltered feel compared to more open stretches nearby.
Torre Ladrones is a watchtower built in the 14th century under Moorish rule to guard this part of the coast against raids from the sea. It still stands at the edge of the beach and can be seen clearly from the shore.
The western end of the beach is used by naturist visitors, while the rest of the shore is open to everyone. This division has been part of daily life here for decades and is generally respected without any formality.
The beach has showers, restrooms, sun lounger rentals, and a few restaurants close to the shore. Some of these services may not be available early in the morning or late in the afternoon, so it is worth coming prepared.
The dune system behind the beach is one of the last of its kind along this part of the coast and is protected for ecological reasons. Walking through the pines reveals quieter sections of sand that are not visible from the main access point.
