Calahonda

Calahonda is a beach in Mijas on the Costa del Sol, extending over several kilometers with a mix of sand and small pebbles along the shoreline. Multiple access points and facilities are spread across its length to serve visitors.

The coastal area transformed from an undeveloped shoreline into a major tourist destination during the late twentieth century development of the Costa del Sol.

The beachfront features traditional Spanish chiringuitos serving local seafood and offering views of the Mediterranean Sea.

Lifeguards, showers, and rental equipment for water activities are available, along with convenient access points throughout. Visiting in early morning or late afternoon helps avoid the busiest times.

On clear days, visitors can see both the Rock of Gibraltar and the North African coastline across the Mediterranean from this beach.
