Marbella stretches over 27 kilometers of Mediterranean coastline at the base of Sierra Blanca, showing white sandy beaches and palm-lined waterfront promenades. The municipality contains several neighborhoods distributed between the coast and the mountains.
Archaeological findings at Rio Verde reveal Roman settlements from the 1st century, including remains of a villa with preserved mosaics and thermal baths. During the Middle Ages the town was founded by the Moors and later taken during the Christian reconquest of Castile.
The Plaza de los Naranjos in the Old Town features Renaissance buildings, marble fountains and traditional Andalusian houses. Daily life centers around this square, with cafés and small shops opening onto the arcades.
Temperatures remain between 18 and 19 degrees Celsius throughout the year, with direct transport connections to Málaga International Airport. Access to the different beach sections is free, and several public parking areas can be found along the coast.
The Puerto Banús marina offers berths for 915 vessels and is surrounded by fashion boutiques, restaurants and entertainment venues. Here a wide range of boats moor, from small sailing craft to luxury yachts several stories high.
