Easter Lake Beach

Easter Lake Beach stretches along the north shore of a large lake and provides a sandy swimming area within an expansive recreational park. The beach features modern facilities and designated swimming areas for visitors.

The site was once home to one of Polk County's last operating coal mines before it closed in 1959. The land was transformed into a public park starting in 1967.

The beach serves as a gathering place where families spend weekends swimming and picnicking along the shoreline. Visitors of all ages use the sandy area for casual recreation and water activities throughout the seasons.

The beach is best visited during warm weather when water temperatures are comfortable for swimming. Visitors should bring water and sunscreen as shade is limited along the shoreline.

The park maintains a special photo station where visitors can document environmental changes over time. Repeated photographs from the same spot reveal how the beach and surrounding landscape shift with seasons and years.
