Wading River Landing

Wading River Landing is a public beach along Long Island Sound featuring soft sand and calm waters. The gradual slope of the shore makes it suitable for swimming and other water activities for people of different abilities.

To visit, you need a parking permit from February through December. The lot has designated parking areas set aside for both standard vehicles and four-wheel-drive vehicles.

This westernmost beach in Riverhead features a special mat system that provides beach access for visitors with mobility challenges. Free wheelchairs are available on-site to help people navigate the sand and water more easily.
