Owen Beach

Owen Beach is a shingle beach in Point Defiance Park with panoramic views of Puget Sound, Vashon Island, Mount Rainier, and passing ferries. The shoreline stretches along the water's edge with a natural composition of stones and pebbles.

The beach became a public recreation area in the early 1900s when Point Defiance Park established itself as a pioneering city park. This development opened the shoreline to public access and shaped it into a popular leisure destination.
