Tres Trapi, Snorkeling beach in Noord, Aruba
Tres Trapi is a snorkeling beach in Noord accessed by concrete steps carved into coral formations. The shallow, clear water makes it easy to observe sea turtles and reef fish without venturing far from shore.
The name Tres Trapi comes from Papiamento and means Three Steps, referring to the original coral steps that once provided water access. These were later replaced with concrete steps that remain in use today.
Local residents maintain marine preservation efforts by monitoring turtle populations and organizing regular beach cleaning activities throughout the year.
Visit in the early morning between 8 AM and 11 AM when water conditions are calmest and marine life is most active. Bring water and sun protection since the beach offers little shade.
Sea turtles gather here to feed on seagrass beds near limestone formations, making it one of the best spots to observe them in their natural feeding behavior. This feeding pattern is what draws marine life to this particular location.
