Boca Catalina

Boca Catalina is a small, secluded cove on the northwestern coast where white sand meets clear water and limestone rock formations. These natural structures frame the bay and create sheltered areas ideal for exploring marine life.

A German cargo ship named Antilla sank during World War II and now rests on the seafloor near this coast. The wreck has transformed into an underwater habitat that divers and snorkelers can visit today.

Weekends bring both local families and visitors who gather in informal beach shelters and enjoy the simple rhythms of seaside life together. The cove has become a place where people naturally meet to spend time by the water with those close to them.

The beach has no facilities, but free parking is available nearby. Bring your own snorkeling gear and supplies since nothing is available to rent or purchase on-site.

Early morning snorkeling offers the chance to watch large schools of tropical fish moving through shallow waters between the limestone formations. The volume and variety of these schools make the morning experience particularly rewarding.
