Playa Carrillo

Playa Carrillo extends along a curved bay with white sand, bordered by palm trees and protected by rocky headlands at both ends of the shore.

The completion of Road 150 in 2006 transformed access to Playa Carrillo, connecting the remote coastal area directly to the central town of Nicoya.

Local cowboys regularly pass through the southern section of the beach during cattle drives, maintaining traditional ranching practices of the Guanacaste region.

The beach holds Blue Flag certification, indicating high standards of water quality, environmental management, and safety measures for all visitors.

Unlike neighboring coastal areas, Playa Carrillo maintains a complete absence of beachfront buildings, preserving an unobstructed view of the natural landscape.
