Located on a rooftop opposite the train station, Freia features a transparent greenhouse dining room with views over the city of Nantes.

Sarah Mainguy established Freia in 2024 as her second restaurant venture, following the successful launch of Vacarme five years earlier.

The restaurant combines French gastronomy with ecological principles through an on-site urban garden managed by market gardener Alice Ménard.

The restaurant serves an eight-course menu at 120 euros, operating Tuesday through Friday from 19:30 to 20:45 and Saturday from 19:30 to midnight.

The kitchen focuses on raw preparations and plant-based dishes, incorporating preservation methods like fermentation while avoiding imported ingredients such as chocolate and spices.
