Eskulapek

Eskulapek, Bronze dwarf statue in Stare Miasto district, Wrocław, Poland.

Eskulapek is a small bronze figure depicting Esculapius located at the entrance of the Lower Silesian Medical Association building on Kazimierza Wielkiego 45 street. The sculpture sits in the heart of Wrocław's Old Town and displays characteristic details related to medical traditions.

The bronze figure was created and unveiled in 2013 by artist Beata Zwolańska-Hołod as part of an expanding collection of street art in Wrocław. Its placement at a medical building connects local artistic movements with the city's institutional heritage.

This figure is part of a collection of over 300 dwarfs scattered throughout Wrocław, referencing the Orange Alternative movement that used humor as resistance during communist times. These sculptures have become woven into the city's identity and character today.

The figure stands at a building entrance in the Old Town and is easily reached on foot while exploring the surrounding streets from the central Market Square. Visitors should keep their eyes open as these artworks are small and easy to miss while walking.

This figure sits at the entrance of a medical association building, creating a rare link between Wrocław's dwarf sculptures and institutional buildings. The placement shows how street art collections extend into unexpected parts of the urban landscape.
