Clive Greenbelt Trail, Cycling path in Clive, Iowa, United States.
The Clive Greenbelt Trail is a paved path stretching 11.3 miles through Polk and Dallas Counties, following the north bank of Walnut Creek. Markers and signs along the way show you where you are and which direction to go.
The path began in the late 1990s as part of Clive's effort to build recreational connections between nearby communities across central Iowa. From those early beginnings, it grew into a regional route that links multiple places together.
The path connects places where local residents spend their time, including parks, libraries, and a swimming center. These linked spaces naturally encourage people to get out and enjoy being together in nature.
Parking is available at several locations, including near the Walmart on 73rd Street and at various community centers nearby. Before heading out, keep in mind that the full path is about 11 miles, so plan your time accordingly.
The path connects to the 56-mile Raccoon River Valley Trail system through Waukee, which is part of the larger American Discovery Trail. This link means you can continue on a much longer journey if you choose to.
