Yokocho, Bar and karaoke club in the Werksviertel, Munich, Germany.
Yokocho recreates the feeling of walking through lively Japanese side streets at night, with red lanterns, colorful neon signs and dark curtains adorned with Japanese characters that cast a soft, inviting glow throughout the space.
The club was founded by two friends who lived in Southeast Asia, where karaoke is deeply woven into nightlife culture, and they wanted to bring that joyful, communal singing experience to Munich, which had no dedicated karaoke bar at the time.
Guests from many countries come here to sing songs in different languages, choosing from a library of over 100,000 tracks, and the themed rooms inspired by Godzilla, Origami and Studio Ghibli add a playful touch to the Japanese atmosphere.
The karaoke rooms are equipped with professional sound systems, microphones and quick drink service, and the club opens on Wednesday afternoons through late weekend nights, with sessions costing around 20 euros per person for two hours.
Special theme nights like Sad Song Sunday invite guests to perform melancholic tunes in a calm, therapeutic setting, creating an emotional space where people connect through music and shared vulnerability in a way that feels both intimate and healing.
