Badeschiff

Badeschiff is a converted cargo barge functioning as a floating swimming facility directly on the Spree River, offering views of Berlin's skyline. The installation provides a swimming basin with consistent depth and a beach area for additional waterside activities.

The project began in 2004 when architects transformed an industrial container into this swimming facility. Its creation was part of an urban development initiative along the Spree that revitalized neglected riverbank areas.

The place attracts people seeking a casual outdoor swimming spot where bathing and waterside relaxation come together. The beach area becomes a gathering point for various activities, from volleyball games to concerts and social evenings.
