Pastry shop Lac, Pastry shop, chocolaterie, and confectionery in Nice, France
Pâtisserie Lac is a pastry shop, chocolaterie, and confectionery in Nice, run by Pascal and Valérie Lac since the mid-1990s. The shop crafts chocolates, cakes, pralines, and biscuits on site, all displayed in neat arrangements of colorful boxes and trays.
Pascal and Valérie Lac opened their first shop in Beaulieu in the mid-1990s. Over time, they expanded by adding locations in Nice and nearby towns.
Pâtisserie Lac offers workshops where visitors can try making chocolates and desserts by hand. Each participant takes home what they made during the session.
Visitors can watch the chocolatiers and pastry chefs working behind the counter. The staff are happy to help choose products, so it is worth taking a moment to ask for advice before deciding.
One of the shop's chocolates comes from a single growing region in Peru, called Perou Chuncho, and carries notes of spice and vanilla that differ from standard dark chocolate. This kind of single-origin chocolate is rarely found in a neighborhood pastry shop.
