Camping Mikulov, Campsite in Mikulov, Czech Republic
Camping Mikulov is a campsite on the edge of Mikulov, a town in the South Moravian region of the Czech Republic. It has around 70 pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes, with electricity and water connections, clean shower and toilet blocks, and a playground for children.
Mikulov is a historic town on the old Amber Road, which once guided traders from northern Europe toward the south. The area around the campsite has been shaped by centuries of wine-growing and trade.
Mikulov sits in one of the best-known wine-growing areas of the Czech Republic, and many guests visit nearby wineries during their stay to taste local wines. In the evenings, the castle on the hill is lit up and clearly visible from many of the pitches.
The entrance to the campsite is not well signed at night and can look like a private driveway, so arriving before dark or checking the exact location in advance makes things easier. The center of Mikulov is roughly a 10-minute walk away, making it easy to explore town on foot without needing a car.
Although the site has modern facilities, there is currently little shade from trees because the area is newly planted. The owners are actively adding trees in response to guest feedback, so the look of the site will change noticeably over the coming years.
