Le Dune

Le Dune is a campground near Costa Rei beach on Sardinia's southeastern coast, with around 200 pitches set among Mediterranean plants and natural sand dunes. The site features modern bathroom facilities, electrical connections, and a small shop that stocks camping essentials during the warmer months.

The campground opened in the 1970s when Sardinia's southeastern coast was first developed as a tourist destination. Its creation was part of a larger wave of infrastructure development that opened the region to nature lovers and beach visitors.

The on-site restaurant sources fresh fish from local fishermen working out of Muravera, bringing traditional Sardinian cooking methods to the table. This connection to the fishing community gives meals here an authentic character tied to daily coastal life.

The site operates fully from April through October, with most services available during the warmer months. Its location near both the beach and the town of Muravera means you can walk to restaurants and shops when the on-site minimarket is closed.

The dune landscape surrounding the site creates a natural barrier to the beach and shelters rare native plant species adapted to salty sea air. Those who look closely find patches of specialized vegetation between the sand hills that exist nowhere else at this location.
