SiloSilo, Rooftop bar and terrace in Zurich, Switzerland.
SiloSilo is a rooftop bar and terrace in a former industrial building featuring 21 black steel cylinders on a concrete base that define its distinctive appearance. The ground floor contains two colorful steel counters serving as bar areas, while the landscaped outdoor space includes a boules court and accommodates food truck catering.
The building originated as an early 20th-century industrial site before being transformed in 2020 by architect Rainer Quenzer. This conversion united historical manufacturing elements with contemporary design for its current hospitality function.
The space champions social responsibility by donating money for every kilogram of coffee sold and directing ten percent of water revenues to the humanitarian organization Medair. Visitors notice the commitment to supporting causes while enjoying their time here.
The space accommodates up to 100 guests on the ground floor with easy flow between indoor and outdoor areas. Getting around is straightforward, with the terrace being accessible and flat for comfortable movement.
The 21 black steel cylinders were originally storage equipment that was deliberately preserved during the renovation. Today they serve as a visual signature of the site's former industrial past that visitors immediately recognize.
