Dandi Domus, Ancient Roman residence in Rome, Italy
Dandi Domus is a Roman residence with two large residential wings decorated with marble and frescoed walls. Underground chambers connect the structures through a network of corridors and passages beneath ground level.
Excavations beginning in 2005 revealed the remains of imperial-era houses and a temple dedicated by Emperor Hadrian to honor Trajan and his wife.
The central courtyard held a household shrine where families left offerings and prayed to their domestic gods for protection and guidance.
