Lacs de Lignin
Lacs de Lignin are two mountain lakes near Colmars in the French Alps. They sit at roughly 2,300 meters (7,500 feet) elevation and are surrounded by rocky peaks and alpine meadows.
The lakes formed through glacial movement during the Ice Age and have shaped this region's alpine landscape for millennia. They have been a natural feature of the high mountain terrain above Colmars since ancient times.
Access is through hiking trails from Colmars that take one to two hours depending on the route. Visitors should wear proper footwear and bring weather-resistant clothing since conditions at this elevation can change quickly.
