Pont Saint-Roch

Pont Saint-Roch crosses the Verdon River with a single segmental arch built from finely shaped stone blocks and an irregular upper surface. The masonry shows typical features of handcrafted stonework from its period of construction.

The bridge was built in the 17th century and later expanded in the 19th century with the addition of two downstream wings supported by discharge arches. These modifications reflect how the design adapted to changing needs over time.

The bridge shows how local craftspeople shaped stone and designed river crossings, which remains part of the village identity today. Visitors can see how this structure marks daily life and serves as a landmark for those passing through Colmars.

The bridge is easily accessible and offers good views of the Verdon from both riverbanks. The location is straightforward to reach on foot and well-oriented from the village center.

Small square holes are visible on both sides of the vault where wooden support beams were once inserted during construction. These traces reveal the building techniques that stonemasons used centuries ago.
