Pont Saint-Roch, Historical bridge in Colmars, France
The Saint-Roch Bridge spans across the Verdon River with a single segmental arch made of precisely cut stone blocks and irregular extrados.
The bridge, dating from the 17th century, underwent modifications in the 19th century with the addition of two downstream wings supported by discharge arches.
The Saint-Roch Bridge represents a notable example of French architectural engineering and received historical monument status on February 8, 1927.
The structure measures 19 meters in length and 3.60 meters in width, featuring two parapets of 40 centimeters each and a vault height of 6.50 meters.
The bridge preserves visible putlog holes at both spring points of the vault, providing evidence of original construction methods from its historical period.
