The Genoese Lighthouse stands as a towering maritime structure on Romania's Black Sea coast, offering commanding views over the port city of Mangalia and the surrounding waters.

Originally built in the 1950s on the site of medieval Genoese trading structures, the lighthouse replaced earlier navigation aids that guided merchant vessels to the ancient port of Callatis.

The lighthouse features Romania's only antique sundial integrated into its structure, making it a distinctive cultural landmark that celebrates both maritime heritage and traditional timekeeping methods.

Located near Mangalia's main tourist attractions, the lighthouse remains easily accessible to visitors throughout the year and provides excellent photographic opportunities during sunset hours.

The lighthouse's lens was relocated to the Romanian Naval Museum in Constanța, while the structure itself underwent complete restoration in 2018 to preserve its architectural authenticity.
