Bustul lui Mihai Eminescu din Constanța

The bronze monument features a tall bust of the poet Mihai Eminescu mounted on a travertine pedestal with a female figure at the base.

The statue was unveiled in 1934 in presence of King Carol II of Romania, marking the connection between Eminescu and his first visit to the Black Sea in 1882.

The female figure beneath represents either Calliope, the muse of epic poetry, or carries features inspired by Veronica Micle, the poet's muse.

Located on the Casino promenade, the monument stands 3 meters tall and provides visitors a view of the Black Sea that Eminescu admired.

The monument fulfills the poet's wish expressed in his verses to rest near the sea, as depicted in his poem 'I Still Have One Longing'.
