Fort de Réallon

This medieval fortress stands on a strategic plateau featuring a 12th-century square keep, a semicircular tower, and connecting walls spanning approximately 2,500 square meters.

First documented in 1371 as Fortalicium, the fort served as the primary residence of the Lords of Savines before they relocated their main seat to Savines.

The site represents French medieval military architecture and has been preserved through restoration efforts by the Patrimoine en Réallonais association since 2005.

Visitors can reach the fort via a 30-minute hiking trail from Réallon village, passing through oak and pine forests with a natural water source available at the base.

The ruins combine authentic medieval stonework with modern amenities including a panoramic viewing table identifying surrounding peaks and educational panels explaining the fortress architecture.
