Parc animalier du Creuset, Animal park in Orcières, France.
The Parc animalier du Creuset spans 12 hectares at 1550 meters altitude in the Champsaur valley, featuring mountain wildlife including ibex, chamois, marmots, yaks, llamas, and Falabella horses in naturalistic enclosures.
The park was established several years ago with the mission to protect local species and educate the public about nature conservation, specializing in showcasing mountain wildlife difficult to encounter below 2500 meters altitude.
The facility represents Alpine heritage by displaying regional species that have adapted to high-altitude environments, emphasizing the traditional connection between mountain communities and their native wildlife through educational programming.
Operating hours vary seasonally from 10am to 7pm in high season and 2pm to 6pm in low season, with admission fees of €9 for adults and €7 for children aged 3-12, while children under 3 enter free.
Visitors can participate in supervised animal feeding experiences and observe live footage of ibex in their reconstructed natural habitat, creating an immersive educational encounter with Alpine biodiversity.
