Built between 1892 and 1902 for deputy Nicolae Cesianu, the palace served as an aristocratic residence, functioned as a grocery store during the communist era, and was restored to cultural use after 1989.
Since 2011, the palace houses the Artmark auction house and ArtSociety gallery, displaying works by renowned Romanian artists including Nicolae Grigorescu, Ștefan Luchian, and Theodor Pallady in its Red and Spanish salons.
The palace operates daily from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, hosting temporary exhibitions, art auctions, and guided tours that allow visitors to explore its decorated interiors and architectural features.
The interior salons preserve original oil paintings in the style of Jean-Antoine Watteau, depicting picnic scenes and musical performances that reflect the refined tastes of Bucharest's 19th-century elite society.
