Shibpur Bazar Mosque
Shibpur Bazar Mosque is a mosque in Raipura, Bangladesh, with space for several thousand worshippers at once. The building measures roughly 200 by 125 feet and features a simple, functional design with a main prayer hall beneath a gently curved roof.
The building opened in November 2008 and was entirely funded by a local businessman who wanted to create a center for community prayer. The land was donated by a resident whose family had lived in the upazila for generations.
The mosque stands close to Shibpur Bazar bus stop and can be reached by auto rickshaw from Morjal bus stand. Visitors should dress modestly and remain quiet during prayer times to avoid disturbing worshippers.
A garden stretches from Morjal bus stand to Belabo Bazar, forming a green corridor along the road leading to the building. The area is also known for occasional archaeological finds uncovered between December and March.
