PLA Naval Museum, 位於中國青島的博物館
The PLA Naval Museum in Qingdao is a military-operated facility displaying warships, weapons, and equipment from different periods of Chinese maritime history. It features a large indoor exhibition hall with thousands of artifacts and an outdoor waterfront section where real destroyers, frigates, and submarines can be viewed.
The museum was founded in 1989 as the first facility of its kind in China dedicated solely to naval history. A renovation and expansion later increased the space available for exhibits and vessels.
The name refers to the People's Liberation Army, which remains central to the country's defense today. Children and families visit to learn about naval traditions and the values connected to maritime service.
The outdoor section with real vessels is located right along the waterfront and is easy to navigate; consider weather conditions when visiting. Visitor numbers can be heavy, so arriving early in the day or on weekdays works well.
The destroyer Anshan, the first of its class in the Chinese navy, is moored here and can be boarded to explore the interior. The vessel marks a turning point toward modern Chinese naval forces.
