Larra-Belagua
Larra-Belagua is a ski resort located in the Larra-Belagua nature reserve in the Roncal Valley in Navarra, offering trails for different skill levels. The area covers around 20 kilometers of cross-country routes and includes a separate downhill area at La Contienda with five runs of varying difficulty, plus snowshoe paths and equipment rental services at the two main facilities, El Ferial and La Contienda.
The resort was established in 2008 and has developed steadily since its opening. The region has a long tradition of mountain use by local communities, who left behind paths that are still used today for recreation and winter sports activities.
The name Larra-Belagua comes from the Basque language and refers to the mountain peaks in the region. Visitors use this place to connect with winter mountain life and to experience the quiet rhythm of the Pyrenees in a setting far from crowds.
The resort is reachable by car from Isaba via a mountain road and offers parking near the main buildings. It is best to arrive early to make the most of your day, and the peak season usually runs from late December to March depending on snow conditions.
The area is known for its annual Snowrunning event in January, a snow running race that also serves as a Spanish championship and attracts runners from the region. Additionally, the resort uses sustainable practices such as meltwater for facility irrigation to help protect the environment.
