The Le Bristol hotel, where the bar is found, opened in 1925 and was intended from the start for an international clientele. During the 1940s, the building temporarily housed the American embassy in Paris.
The bar at Le Bristol sits on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, one of the most recognized shopping streets in Paris, surrounded by fashion houses and galleries. Sitting here for a drink puts you in the middle of a neighborhood that has been tied to fashion and art for decades.
The bar is open to hotel guests as well as outside visitors and is found on the ground floor of the building. Coming outside of peak evening hours makes it easier to find a seat without waiting.
The hotel's rooftop pool on the sixth floor was designed in the shape of a ship's bow, one of the few hotel pools in Paris with views over the city's rooftops. This shape was a deliberate choice by architect Pinnau, not a coincidence.
