Burmistrz Józefa Kaźmierski City Park, Town park in Żuromin, Poland
Parc Municipal du Maire Józefa Kaźmierskiego is a town park in the center of Żuromin, a small town in northern Poland. It consists of paths that wind between grassy areas and trees, with benches placed along the way.
The site was originally a more natural patch of greenery before the town gradually shaped it into a maintained park. In 2020, the town council decided to name the park after Józef Kaźmierski, the first mayor of the town after it received city rights in 1925.
The park is a meeting point for residents who come in the evening for a walk or to sit on a bench. The sign bearing the mayor's name on the Żuromin Cultural Center building reminds visitors of who this man was.
The park is close to the center of Żuromin and easy to reach on foot. A visit works well in the evening or on warm days, when the shade from the older trees is welcome.
Kaźmierski died at only 45 years old from an infection, leaving little time to finish many of his projects for the town. One of his concrete acts was paving the muddy market area, which made daily life noticeably easier for residents.
