Lake Park is a large outdoor park on the southern shore of Lake Lewisville in Texas. It contains beaches, boat ramps, golf courses, sports fields, a fishing barge, picnic areas, and a campground.
The land along Lake Lewisville belongs to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, which dammed the lake in the 1950s as a flood control project. The city of Lewisville later leased the land from the Corps to turn it into a public recreation area.
The park sits just off I-35E and is easy to reach by car. Water shoes are a good idea at the beach since fishing hooks or line can sometimes be hidden in the sand.
The park has a floating fishing barge out on the lake, which lets anglers fish from a platform on the water without needing a boat. The 9-hole golf course has a night-light system, so rounds can be played after dark.
