Sveti Stefan view point, Scenic viewpoint in Sveti Stefan, Montenegro

Sveti Stefan view point is a roadside pull-off on the coastal road above the small island town, facing the Adriatic Sea in Montenegro. From this high spot the stone island, its orange rooftops, the narrow causeway, and the two pebble beaches below are all visible in one wide frame.

The island seen from this point began as a fortified fishing settlement in the 15th century, built by the Paštrovići clan. By the mid-1900s the old stone houses had been turned into a hotel, but the viewpoint above the road kept its role as the place to see the whole settlement from a distance.

Local residents and travelers often pause here to take the same photograph that appears on postcards and travel posters of the country. In summer the viewpoint fills with people at sunset, when the last light turns the island's stone walls a warm gold and the sea deepens to dark blue.

The viewpoint sits right along the main coastal road, so you can stop briefly while driving between Budva and Petrovac. A stone parapet gives a safe edge for taking photos, but there is very little shade, so early mornings or late afternoons are more comfortable.

On clear days you can spot the stone path called Yegor's Path, a narrow ledge carved into the cliffside by a monk long ago. It runs below the viewpoint and is easy to miss unless you know to look for the thin line cut above the water.
