Parc de la Légende, Sculpture park in Lausanne, Switzerland
Parc de la Légende is a sculpture park in Lausanne, Switzerland. It features a path of about 200 meters with 18 bronze sculptures, each accompanied by an open book that tells the story in conventional writing and Braille.
The park was created as the first project of the concept "Voir c'est Toucher". It was entirely funded by donations and then given to the City of Lausanne, which dedicated the space to it.
The park is designed for blind and visually impaired people, but everyone can enjoy the art and the tale. As you walk, you can read the story on the open books or listen to it, and the sculptures bring the legend to life.
The park is open at all times and free to enter, with easy access for wheelchairs. It is near the Casino de Montbenon, and you can reach it by bus from the train station, getting off at the Cécil stop.
The story told through the sculptures explains why trees lose their leaves at the end of summer. The project was imagined by Sara.H with artist DeLaPerouze and the Perseo SA foundry, and all made in Switzerland.
