Fiancey Park, Public garden in Saint-Égrève, France.
Fiancey Park is a public green space with an artificial lake of 2.5 hectares set within 13 hectares of landscaped grounds at the base of Mont Néron. The site includes a skate park, tennis courts, children's playgrounds, and picnic areas for different types of recreation.
The park opened in June 1982 and was named after Lieutenant Fiancey, a local resistance fighter who died in World War II. The choice of name reflects his contribution to the region during that period.
The park serves as a gathering space where locals spend time with family and friends throughout the year. You will see people using the open areas for rest and social activities on most days.
The area is easy to navigate with clear pathways connecting the different sections for most visitors. Keep in mind that swimming and barbecues are not permitted, but you will find plenty of space for rest and outdoor dining elsewhere.
The lake played a crucial role in fighting a major forest fire in the region when helicopters drew water from it. This practical function makes the water body much more than just a recreational feature in the landscape.
