Mravenečník, Mountain summit in Loučná nad Desnou, Czech Republic

Mravenečník is a mountain summit in the Hrubý Jeseník range that rises to approximately 1,344 meters (4,410 feet). The peak features steep slopes covered in dense plant growth throughout the year.

The name Mravenečník probably arose from a garbled back-translation of the German Am eisen Berg (iron mountain) into Ameisenhübel (ant hill). On the northern ridge below the summit, at Medvědí hora, a wind turbine with three towers 38 to 42 m tall and blades 12, 15 and 21 m long was built in 1991; it was permitted as temporary until the end of 2018, and the owner's plan to replace the towers was not approved.

The name likely arose from a garbled back-translation of the German "Am eisen Berg" (iron mountain) into "Ameisenhübel" (ant hill). The summit is a viewpoint at the crossing of three unmarked paths, with views of the surrounding peaks and villages. A geodetic point numbered 26 stands about 35 m west of the top, beside a toppled steel post.

No marked trail reaches the summit itself; access is from the road from Loučná nad Desnou to the upper reservoir of the Dlouhé stráně pumped-storage plant, or by two unmarked paths branching from the red trail near the Mravenečník (sedlo) junction at 1,305 m. Detailed maps help, as the paths are faint and the slopes forested.
