Ropice, Mountain summit in the Moravian-Silesian Beskids, Czech Republic

Ropice is a 1,082-metre summit in the Moravian-Silesian Beskids, in the Ropice Range about 5 km east of Morávka and 6 km south of Řeka. Its slopes are covered by mixed spruce-beech forest, and a wooden statue of the Slavic god Perun stands at the top beside a geodetic point.

The summit and part of its slopes have been protected since 2011 as the Ropice Nature Reserve. The mountain lies in the Ropice Range of the Moravian-Silesian Beskids, on the Cieszyn Silesia side, about 5 km east of Morávka and 6 km south of Řeka.

At the summit stands a wooden statue of Perun, the Slavic god of thunder, storms and lightning, later honoured as a giver of harvests. An explanatory panel states that Perun on Ropice symbolises mutual tolerance and concord between Czechs, Slovaks and Poles.

A red-marked KČT trail reaches the summit directly between the Šindelná, Ropice and Velký Lipový junctions; blue, yellow and white-marked cycle route 6083 connect to these junctions. About 300 m east of the summit, beside the red trail toward Velký Lipový, are a spring and a tourist shelter. There is no mountain hut or other facility on the summit.
