Kravaře, Historical municipality in Opava District, Czech Republic
Kravaře is a municipality with town privileges located in Opava District, situated east of the district capital. The settlement comprises three administrative sections – central Kravaře, Dvořisko, and Kouty – and features a Baroque castle with expansive grounds and park areas.
The settlement first appears in written records in 1224 when King Ottokar I Přemysl referenced it in an official document. Over the following centuries, the community developed and eventually the Baroque castle was constructed to serve as an administrative and cultural focal point.
The Baroque castle anchors local cultural life and displays exhibits about the region's heritage throughout its rooms. The adjoining park with unusual trees offers a place where residents and visitors alike spend time walking and observing nature.
The area is easy to explore on foot since its various sections are arranged in a relatively compact layout. The park grounds surrounding the castle remain accessible throughout the year and provide pleasant spaces for walking.
A professional golf course sits within the castle's park grounds. The Buly Aréna nearby houses ice hockey facilities that operate year-round for the community.
