Rýmařov is a municipality with town privileges in Bruntál District, located in the Moravian-Silesian Region. The settlement spreads across hilly terrain at roughly 590 meters elevation.
The town originated in medieval times and later developed around iron ore mining. After World War II, the population shifted when German residents departed and Czech settlers arrived to rebuild the community.
