Nelahozeves

Nelahozeves is a small municipality in Central Bohemia known for its Renaissance castle and as the birthplace of composer Dvořák. The village sits along the Moldau River and blends rural character with historical significance.

The Lobkowicz family took over the castle in the 17th century and shaped it for centuries. This noble family established it as an important cultural center in the region.

The village is closely tied to composer Dvořák, who was born here and whose legacy remains woven into the local identity. Visitors can find traces of his influence throughout the area as they explore the community.

The village is easily reached by direct trains from Prague to Nelahozeves zámek station, which is close to the main sites. The location works well for day trips and also offers walking paths along the river.

The castle shows Italian Renaissance architecture combined with Bohemian fortress elements and elaborate bastions. This unusual blend makes it a rare example of architectural fusion not commonly seen in the region.
