The castle served as home to the Lobkowicz family and displays how Bohemian nobility lived and built their collection over time. The artworks and furnishings in each room show the tastes and wealth of the residents across different periods.
The castle lies about 35 kilometers from Prague and can be visited by guided tour through the various living quarters. Visitors should expect varying lighting in different rooms and wear comfortable shoes to manage the many stairs between floors.
The Knights' Hall features a monumental 16th-century sandstone fireplace with intricate ceiling reliefs depicting Roman deities and scenes. This combination of architectural grandeur and artistic craftsmanship is often overlooked, yet it makes this one of the castle's most impressive spaces.
